Book the XIVth: Revenge of the Rolling Eye[/center]
Summary of Of Bugs, Ghosts, and Stick Fights
The very beginning of Book the Fourteenth marked the beginning of the great Smiley War. When Bacon began to tax the people for use of the Rolling Eye Smiley because it was of great annoyance to him, there was great revolt. RaditzSoldier scream and ran throughout the halls of the Green Dragon, screaming, "Bring the rolling eyes smiley back!" And thus, the RESM (Rolling Eyes Smiley Movement), led by Raditz, was formed to clash against the taxing of Bacon.
Meanwhile, discussion shifted to the mysterious figure Andalite-Bandit, who dwelt in the palace known as the Jedi Council Forum, capital of message boards. Bacon, who found himself in this mysterious place from time to time, spoke of this mysterious person, and how he wished he would visit the Inn. Phoenix, who also visited the JCF frequently, also thought he was hilarious. But, soon this discussion shifted once more to RESM, and even DDL, a bartender, called for the taxing to end. But Bacon would not be moved, and so it was that the first great battle, or should I saw brawl began.
It was rather small, but it managed to make Bacon feel somewhat threatened by the visitors to the Inn, and so he called up his own army to fight against Raditz's Rebellion. The many battles of the Smiley War need not be told in length, for there are many, and the war itself lasted for five years, with many blood shed for the rolling eye and against it. There was one particular battle near the end of the war in which Raditz figured out how to defeat Bacon's onslaught.
He insulted his character, and his leadership qualities of the Green Dragon Inn. Quickly, the war ended, and the tax was eliminated, the rolling eye smiley restored to its proper use. Yet Bacon's health and mood began to shift. He was rarely seen in the halls of the Green Dragon, often in his own room, leaving DDL to handle the Inn. When he was seen, he was moody and depressed, and would not see anyone.
But, he slowly began to approve, with the advice of Phoenix and Frosty. He talked little, and ate much, yet soon he was his normal self again.
It was around this time that they appeared... the assassins. One evening, Bacon, Frosty, and Raditz (all survivors of the sinking of the Dragonic, mind you) were eating at the Inn after it's closure for the night, when suddenly Frosty heard something shift outside. Bacon and Raditz investigated outside, and heard nothing, nor did they see anything. And so they merely thought it an illusion, or perhaps some wild animal.
The next night, Bacon and Raditz heard the same thing. Raditz heard something outside, and quickly followed it... he has not been seen since. Yet Frosty herself heard a conversation between two persons at the very moment. She said that she was walking down the road leading to the Inn when she heard two voices, one male, the other female. She heard several words muttered such as 'raditz', 'mod', 'Star Wars Forum', and yet they quickly disappeared in a carriage that disappeared into the night, heading for the Jedi Council Forum Palace. And thus we hath arrived.
