Hurricane Rita has become a category five. If this hits it's supposed target, it could cause worse pain for Katrina victims.

If this continues on, life is gonna suck.
Global warming is gonna screw the world up.
I keep my thoughts and prayers with all in the Gulf.

Man, am I happy to live far away from those things lol. I hope it'll be alright - often, the afterstorms of your hurricanes reach the shores of Norway where I live and I know those can be pretty violent, so I won't even start to imagine what it's like to be in the middle of the actual hurricane... I really hope nobody here is affected by this.

An 8-foot storm surge recently (as in past couple of hours; posted on CNN at 11:45 a.m. EDT) caused water to rush over the fragile New Orleans levees. I am cross-posting this so it may be noticed easier. www.cnn.com/2005/US/09/23/nola.levees/index.html

So Rita didn't cause as much damage as they had feared... Hmm. I guess that's a good thing, even though it still happened.
