With the murdur of Julius Caeser, the plotters thought Julius's hopes for an Empire were crushed. Now, that however is true. However, Caeser's popularity caused an uproar in the peoples, completly screwing their plan up, and setting off an Empire. Now my question is this: Do you think Rome would have become an Empire had Caeser lived out his Dictator-for-life reign? He would be dead, and would you think they could continue on for politics? Or how do you think Caeser's killers could have alternately saved the Republic of Rome?
