I got this from the library today, and I wanted to use it for important stuffs... who here has read and/ or liked it, or if you haven't read about it but are a huge Tolkien Fan, why not read it?

I don't know if I'm ever going to read this or not. Not right now... not enough time. I tried to read it once, and never got anywhere.
It is an interesting book though.

I've read it before. If you want to read Middle-Earth History, this is an excellent starting point.

I need to get to the Silmarillion sometime. I've heard it's very interesting.
Isn't the story of Morgoth told in there, Minyaliel?

Yeah, it is. Very exciting, and, I think, very interesting, both on an entertaining and psychological base And the whole book's about the elves! ;D

Hehe. I usually read whenever I get the time - eBooks during class (yeah, I know I shouldn't be doing that), during short breaks and lunch break, when standing in lines, on the bus, whenever I'm waiting for someone / something... when you think about it, it's easy to find time to read when you think about it

Do you consider the Silmarillion a necessity to understand LOTR to its fullest?

It's certainly an advantage... you get to understand what they're referring to when talking ancient lore

I can't remember any... but then, it's some time since I read it. But if I can't remember any, be sure there won't be any long ones
