IC: Gorbin
Location: Gorbins’ room
The sun was now just waking up. It opened its’ eyes on Rivendell. The trees responded by shaking their golden green leaves. The river sparkled golden yellow and the waterfall roared down, crashing into the river.
Gorbin got out of bed and looked out of his window. He saw the birds twitter and fly wildly. A falcon could be seen circling in the sky. He whistled and the falcon dived down.
The falcon landed on the windowsill and looked at Gorbin with thin snake like pupils. It had a mouse in its’ beak. It dropped it on the windowsill and waited.
“Is the Council being held today?” asked Gorbin.
The bird looked up at Gorbin and clicked its’ beak once. It looked out of the window and Gorbin saw that it was looking at the elves.
“Today is the day, I have waited long for this. Today I will meet some of the elves, dwarves, and men that I have heard so much about.”
A large shadow flew over the trees. A small blue light started to glow blue in his pocket. He took out a small crystal.
“ Noon is the time of the council.” Thought Gorbin.
He walked over to his staff and put on his robes. In the small clear crystal on his staff, he could see a large blue shape. He walked back to his window and saw Edorath. Edorath was the last of the dragons of the Eriador Mountains. She also was the only dragon who didn’t eat any men, elves, or dwarves.
On her back, elves and dwarves sat on her back. She flew down into a large clearing and landed. The dwarves and elves got off and waited. An arrow whistled by Gorbins’ head and stuck into the wall. A note was attached to it.
The note read:
“ Good Morning Gorbin. Come on down and meet the council Folk.”
The note was signed Elrond.
Gorbin got his staff and took the arrow out of the wall. He muttered a spell and the arrow started to float in the air. He wrote out a note and told the falcon that he could go. After the falcon was gone the arrow shot out of the window like a dart.
Gorbin walked out of the door with his staff, sword, and pack. Attached to the pack was a quiver of arrows. The arrows had white and gold feathers. At his side hung his sword, Aradion, and his bow. The bow was of Lothlórien. The elves had etched symbols in the wood to make it durable for spells.
He walked on a wooden bridge that was lined with several trees. A squirrel sat on a branch and jumped onto the top of Gorbins’ staff. It was golden and red with golden eyes. Gorbin stopped and looked at the squirrel. He reached into his pocket and took out a couple of nuts. He gave it to the squirrel. The squirrel greedily took the nuts and jumped back onto the branch and ate the nuts.
“Silly animal.” Muttered Gorbin.
He continued to walk and came to the end of the bridge. A small clearing opened up. Lush green grasses swayed in a light breeze. Gorbin continued to walk until he reached the river. Small step stones dotted the river.
Gorbin thought for a minute before walking over to a rather large willow tree. He muttered the word bridge in elvish and a large board of wood appeared. It was about ten feet wide and long enough to reach from one end of the river to the other. It was also light enough to lift.
He picked up the board and spoke the same words he said when he made the arrow float. It floated a couple of inches above the stepping-stones. He got onto the board and walked to the other side of the river. When he got off the board, it returned to the willow and disappeared.
Gorbin walked through a small forest until he reached another clearing. This was the clearing where Edorath landed. The dragon had left and the dwarves and elves were talking with each other. Hearing Gorbin, a rather tall elf took out his bow and shot an arrow at Gorbin.
The arrow stopped in mid air and was sent back to the elf at a slow speed. The elves all had their bows out and the dwarves had their axes. The weapons were all aimed at Gorbin.
“Did I do something wrong?” asked Gorbin.
“State your name and business wizard!” Replied an elf in his language.
Gorbin wondered why they were so hostile toward him.
“I am Gorbin, wizard of animals and elements. I am part of the Council of Elrond. Why are you so hostile toward me?” replied Gorbin.
“We are sorry, but strange times these are after the Great War. I am Lórien.” Said the elf that had shot at Gorbin.
“It is okay, I understand. Now, shall we go to see Elrond?” said Gorbin.
Everyone said yes and started to walk after Gorbin.
